We take corporate social responsibility (CSR) as seriously as the quality of our legal advice.

Through partnerships with charities and community projects, and through our own initiatives we’re determined to play our role in creating better places to live, work and do business.

We do this by actively involving local communities, working with our partners to encourage and educate young people and to share our legal and business skills to benefit others.

Supporting communities

We maximise the support we provide to charities and communities to provide greater long term benefits. As well as targeted financial donations, we also donate employee time through volunteering and pro bono work throughout our seven office locations and beyond.

Charities and community projects that we support include: The Princes Trust, CLAN Cancer Support, Greggs Breakfast Club Programme, Leeds Community Foundation; Greenwich Legal Advice Centre, Ronald McDonald House Bristol, St Peter's Hospice, Theatre Royal Plymouth Playhouse Project, Jeremiah's Journey and Southampton Sholing Salvation Army.

Valuing people

We value our people and ensure we promote a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our aim is to create a diverse and inclusive culture for our staff and to attract and retain the very best people.

Recent activities that support this objective include:

  • Our annual diversity and inclusion staff survey which saw a 91% respond rate
  • Piloting our unconscious bias training to staff to assess impact
  • Establishing our diversity and inclusion group which comprises of staff across or seven locations.

Responsible business

Our aim is to minimise the impact we have on the environment by conducting our business in a responsible way and to build sustainable practices for the future.

We are a founding member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance; an inclusive movement of leading law firms and organisations committed to working collaboratively to take positive action on climate change. This is done by measuring, reducing and reporting our carbon footprint, in which we has decreased by 21% per employee since 2013.

Other activities that support us being a responsible, sustainably and environmentally-friendly business include:

  • Working towards ISO14001 International Standard in Environmental Management
  • Reducing food waste
