Examples of work

Grainger plc and Sigma Capital Group plc Deal

We advised Grainger on its strategic partnership with Sigma Capital Group plc to deliver regional “private rented sector” (PRS) developments. The agreement grants Grainger the exclusive option for an initial four year term to acquire development opportunities of 100 units or more sourced by Sigma, to create a large scale PRS portfolio across the key cities in England outside Greater London. A number of sites have already been identified that Grainger and Sigma are looking to progress.

Grainger plc and Sovereign Reversions

We advised Grainger plc on the £40m takeover of AIM-quoted Sovereign Reversions plc and then on its subsequent joint venture with Moorfield Real Estate.

Bellway plc

Advising Bellway on a joint venture with London Borough of Barking and National Power for the 200 acre Barking Reach development – one of the biggest urban regeneration projects in Europe.

Walworth Investment Properties

Through our existing relationship with Grainger plc, we were appointed to advise Walworth Investment Properties Limited, a joint venture between Grainger plc and Dorrington plc. Our advice related to the appointment of Allsop Residential Investment Management Limited (ARIM) as a property manager for a portfolio of 598 South London residential properties and two commercial units. At the time of the transaction, the Walworth portfolio was worth £111m in total, with a gross rental income of approximately £6m per annum. We provided extensive support to Walworth to produce and negotiate management agreements appointing ARIM as a property manager to the Walworth Portfolio. We were required to manage the project directly with the business to ensure successful completion of the project within the tight timescales. We also advised the joint venture vehicle Walworth Investment Properties Limited on the terms of new £60m non-recourse debt facilities.

Newcastle United

Advising Newcastle United on its joint venture with MGM Mirage for the proposed hotel and leisure development at St James’ Park.
