Examples of work

Major National Retailer

  • We provided advice on the distribution of retail financial services products, and the consequences of their interaction with the new consumer credit regime under the FCA. In particular, we advised on the necessary permissions for consumer credit activities and the effect they would have on the client's Appointed Representative relationship with another financial service provider. This involved a full assessment of the client's business model and business objectives in light of the new consumer credit regime, as well as the options available for continuing to act in a compliant manner.

Financial Institutions and national retailers

  • We provide advice to a number of financial institutions and national retailers on their applications to the FCA for authorisation to carry on credit-related regulated activities.

Pension scheme

  • We have reviewed and provided advice on investment management agreements for the investment of the pension scheme assets including custody and risk analysis.  We have provided this regular support to our client over many years.

Telecommunications operator

  • We advised our client on the suitability of the proposed arrangements with a third party online retailer of mobile phone accessories and the potential regulatory implications arising from the Payment Services Regulations in the context of the agreement.
