Womble Bond Dickinson's (WBD) Transatlantic Lawyer Network (TLN) - an initiative designed to strengthen relationships and promote collaboration at all levels between UK and US offices - returns this week, with the energy transition at the forefront of the programme.

First launched in 2018, the TLN brings together small groups of lawyers from the firm’s US and UK offices for sessions designed to foster unity and provide opportunities to explore global client issues.

This year's programme involves lawyers from the UK, the US and Germany, in an action-packed week of workshops, client site visits and talks, social events and networking. WBD UK is hosting this year's programme, beginning in London before travelling to Teesside and Newcastle during the course of the week (April 15-19).

As the world moves towards the goal of decarbonisation and the transition to a low-carbon economy, WBD's US and UK practices work with clients across all of the firm's key sectors as they look to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and transition to net zero. In December 2023, we released a Global Energy Transition Survey, which involved businesses on both sides of the Atlantic and around the globe, in order to gain a greater understanding of the challenges that are being encountered in relation to the energy transition and the current state of play.

Paul Stewart, Managing Partner of WBD UK, said:

"The Transatlantic Lawyer Network provides a great opportunity to further develop and strengthen our combined firm, and to broaden interaction across our US/UK business groups. I am delighted to see the programme return in 2024.

Energy transition is a critical focus area for both the US and UK businesses, and greater collaboration will ensure that we are better positioned to seize the opportunities that lie ahead and help our clients to remain competitive, manage risk and keep abreast of the complex regulatory landscape."
